Edelweiss Estates is a quiet subdivision in south College Station located just off Rock Prairie Rd. north of Welsh and east of Wellborn Rd. Just a short distance down Wellborn Rd. from Texas A&M University, it's not unusual that many staff and faculty reside in Edelweiss Estates.

Much of the development began in the mid 1990's and continued until about 2004 when they ran out of real estate. A similar community, Edelweiss Gartens just a bit further south, is still being developed and features many of the same builders that built in Edelweiss Estates.

Homes range from $130K to just over $250K, although the average sales price for the first half of '09 was $177,747. Homes range in size from under 1400 SF to as large as 3000 SF, but the average size of homes in Edelweiss Estates is around 1850 SF.

The neighborhood features several parks and Rock Prairie elementary school is conveniently located on the corner of Welsh and Rock Prairie Rd.
